Learn Guitar. Play Real Songs. Have a Blast.
It's More Than Guitar Lessons
Sure, your child will learn chords, riffs, and songs.
But they'll also discover what it's like to stick with something challenging... celebrate small victories... encourage friends... and feel proud of what they can do.
Those are the moments parents tell us about long after the lesson is over.
Because while we're teaching guitar...
We're really helping kids build confidence that carries into everything else they do.
Learning guitar shouldn't feel like homework.
At Saltmarsh Music, we've built our beginner guitar groups around one simple idea:
Kids stay excited when they can actually play music they recognize.
That means every lesson is packed with real songs, fun challenges, games, and opportunities to make music together—not just endless scales and worksheets.
Whether your child has never held a guitar before or knows just a few chords, we'll help them build real musical skills while having a genuinely great time.

The Saltmarsh Difference
By the End of the First Month...
Your child won't just know about the guitar—they'll already be making music.
Most new students will:
🎸 Play several recognizable guitar riffs
🎵 Strum their first songs using real chords
👥 Feel comfortable playing alongside other students
📖 Begin reading guitar TAB and basic rhythms
😊 Walk into lessons excited instead of nervous
That's what makes our program different: we focus on getting students playing music they recognize as quickly as possible, because confidence grows every time they hear themselves succeed
Perfect For...
✅ Complete beginners
✅ Kids who have tried guitar before
✅ Students who enjoy learning with friends
✅ Families looking for a fun after-school activity
What a Typical Lesson Looks Like
Every week is a little different, but lessons often include:
🎸 Warm-up games
🎵 Learning a new riff
🎼 Playing songs together
🎤 Rhythm challenges
🤝 Group activities
⭐ Musical games
🎶 A new song to practice at home
Students leave every lesson feeling like they accomplished something.
Need a Guitar?
That's okay — we've got you covered.
Students are welcome to use one of our studio guitars during lessons while they get started. When it's time to practice at home, our Practice Ready Instrument rent-to-own program offers an affordable way to bring home a quality beginner guitar, with every payment going toward ownership. After ten monthly payments, it's theirs to keep.

Does my child need any experience?
1
Not at all.
Our Beginning Guitar groups are designed purposefully for those just starting out.
Does my child need their own guitar?
2
Not right away… we have guitars in studio while your family tries it out. You’ll want one pretty soon if they enjoy it and if you don't have one yet, we offer a convenient Rent-to-Own program to help families get started.
What if they miss a lesson?
We understand that life happens. We'll work with your family according to our studio makeup policy to help your child stay on track.
3
How many students are in each group?
4
We intentionally keep our groups small, usually 3-5 students, so every student receives individual attention while enjoying the energy of learning together.
Will my child perform?
5
Yeah - if they want to!
Students are invited to participate in our fun, low-pressure seasonal Showcases where they can celebrate everything they've learned.
Is this better than private lessons?
6
For many beginners, absolutely.
Learning alongside friends creates energy, motivation, and confidence that can be difficult to replicate in one-on-one lessons. Many students thrive in our group environment while still receiving plenty of individual guidance.
