Saltmarsh Music LLC is a family owned and operated studio founded on the idea that families and their children should have a safe, fun, and creative place to enrich their lives with music. There is a need in our communities for families to find engaging music lessons and activities for their children in group and one-on-one settings.

Saltmarsh Music is run by the Flud family, with Chaz Flud serving as the lead teacher. Chaz has decades of experience teaching, playing, and creating music. Chaz holds a B.M. in Music Composition from the University of the Arts, a M.M. in Music Theory & Composition from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, and a M.S.E. in Special Education with a concentration in Gifted, Talented, and Creative Education from Arkansas State University. In addition to his work at Saltmarsh Music, Chaz also serves as the Vocal Music Director & AP Music Theory Teacher at Atlantic City High School and as the Contemporary Worship Leader at St. Peter’s UMC in Ocean City.

  • All of our group lessons are  forty minutes long.

  • Group lesson tuition is $32 per week. We offer a sibling tuition discount of 10% if there’s one additional child (or if the same child is in two programs) and 12% if your household is registered in 3 or more programs. Our registration fee is a flat $50 per student enrolled and is billed only once per school year as long as your family maintains continuous enrollment. Saltmarsh Music LLC bills tuition on a monthly basis.

  • We believe that our group lesson format is the best option for the vast majority of beginners and intermediate musicians. Currently, we only schedule private lessons for students with unique situations or who have advanced past a certain proficiency.

    When situations dictate private lessons we charge the following rates:

    • 20 minute lessons are $32/lesson* (PRIMARY PIANO ONLY)

    • 30 minute lessons are $40/lesson*

    • 45 minute lessons are $55/lesson*

    There are no sibling discounts for private lessons.

  • Yes! Our PreNotes Piano curriculum is perfect for students as young as three years old and our Primary Ukulele is a great setting for students as young as 4 years old. Little KeyNotes is designed for 4-6 year olds to help bridge the gap between pre-school and primary school needs.
